Nicole and Yogurt

Yesterday Quinn and I made the trek to Lakeland to see my officially-former-but-still-together-in-our-minds Little Sister, Nicole. It had unfortunately been ages since I'd seen her, and she had never met Quinn. We had a great time hanging out and catching up. She and Quinn got along great and we will definitely be seeing her again soon!

They are so cute!

Can you believe how old she looks? I've known her since she was 7, so to see her at 15 is amazing!

I've been working with Quinn on using utensils. So today I decided to let him feed himself yogurt with a spoon. The pictures definitely tell the tale!

Hello August!

Welcome to August everyone! Is this year flying by for everyone?

Since we live in a more wooded area now, Quinn has been getting a lot of bug bites. And it turns out he is a scratcher. He is constantly scratching at his legs, to the point of bleeding sometimes. We have resorted to putting him in pants to sleep. So today for his nap, I just unsnapped the bottom of his one piece outfit and put his pajama pants on. Super cute I know!

Later that afternoon, Ross and I took Quinn to a sprayground in Tampa. It was super fun! If you don't know, a sprayground is a water play area for kids, where water fountains come up from the ground. There are several in Pinellas County and one (free) in Tampa. Quinn had a blast. It wasn't overly crowded, so Quinn was free to run around. As the pictures show, he loved the lions and even made a new friend. It was a great way to spend time together on a hot Saturday afternoon. Now if only we could get one in our part of the county.

17 Months Old!

Another month has flown by and Quinn is 17 months old now. He's still not talking much, but he is very verbal. I hope he knows what he's saying!

Since we've moved, we have access to a piano now, which has been a lot of fun for Quinn. Since both Ross and I took piano lessons for years, I have a hope that he'll play piano as well. And since Ross also played the violin and viola, I wouldn't mind that either. So that, along with the sports and academics I'm sure he'll excel at, he'll be a busy boy!

Haircut day!

Today was the big day...Quinn's 1st haircut. I decided to take him to a kid friendly place, and I'm quite glad I did!
Here is Quinn happily waiting for his haircut...sadly this is the last happy face he made for a while.

Quinn midcut...he started ok, but it quickly deteriorated. Another little girl started crying and that set Quinn off, except that Quinn went off the deep end. She got the clippers out to get it over with, and he was not too happy with that. Then she had to get the scissors out again to trim around his years and I had to physically hold his head and hands.

Here is the end result. Not too bad!! I'm amazed she got it as straight as she did, I probably should have tipped her double.

As can be seen by the above photos, it is definitely time for Quinn's 1st haircut. I've been putting it off, as it seems like when he gets his haircut, he definitely won't be a baby anymore. He'll lose all those beautiful curls! But he can't be a baby forever, and his hair is out of control. I will be documenting the process tomorrow and will get pics up soon! Here's to hoping he doesn't look too much like a kid as opposed to my baby.

Oh, and on a side note, Happy Birthday to my sister Meredith! Love you!

Quinn's 1st Beach Trip!

On Friday the 3rd, my best friend Joy and I took Quinn to Siesta Key near Sarasota. It was his 1st time at the beach, and he had a great time. He got a little freaked out by the waves, but he did okay. It was just a couple of hours, but it was fun and quite tiring. I can't wait to take him back!

A Little Late...but Ross' Birthday!

I forgot to update afterwards, but here are some pictures from Ross' 31st birthday last Friday. We had a great time at his favorite restaurant, Texas Cattle Company, in Lakeland.
