Quinn's First Playdate!

Yesterday Quinn and I went to my friend Beth's house to have lunch and play for a while. We had a great time, although I think Quinn was a little overwhelmed at first. He did his best to keep up with Emily, 3, and Peyton, 1, and he did as good a job as can be expected for a 6 month old. I'm sure it won't be long until he is really keeping up with them!

Quinn had oatmeal for the first time yesterday and seemed to enjoy it. He has gobbled it down both times he has had it. I guess he's really getting the hang of this eating thing.

We have also been having fun getting out the toys we got that he is finally old enough for. Here he is this morning playing with a shape sorter I got at one of my showers. He seems to really like it!
We go tomorrow for his 6 month pictures...can't wait to show them off!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Quinn!

That's right, Quinn is 6 months old today! Amazing isn't it ? Just 6 months ago he was a little 8 lb. bundle of beautiful baby, who basically only ate, slept, and pooped. Now he's a very active little man with quite a personality who is learning and growing every day. He's so much fun and I love him more every day. I know the above picture isn't the best, but it was the only one I could get without him grabbing at the paper. Below are some more recent pictures.
Mmmmm, toes!!!
And now for a blast from the past...

Quick Update

It's been a while since I updated, for which I apologize. My family was here visiting last week and while they were here, our computer crashed and we just got it working again a couple of days ago. I won't be posting pictures, as I need to reupload my camera software.

We had a great time with my family, basically just hanging out. We did go out a few times, one trip to Tampa that ended early due to Quinn's inability to nap and great ability to meltdown. Ross and I finally got to go see The Dark Knight, which was a great movie and proved to be even better because it was free. We got our money refunded because there were several young teenagers in the movie that were completely disrespectful and basically made the movie theater their living room. They were lying on the floor in front of the screen, taking pictures, talking, and being general pests. I guess since I was never that kind of kid, I just don't get it. How was that even fun for them? What do you get out of ruining someone else's evening, who you don't even know. Go to Starbucks. Several people complained that nothing was done by the managers. Ross and I both found ourselves saying, "If Quinn ever does that..." We're such parents now.

Quinn is making a lot of advancements these days. Just this morning he pushed up on his hands and knees and rocked back and forth for a few seconds. He started doing that yesterday, but this morning was the longest. He also flipped out of his Bumbo seat this morning. I guess we won't be able to use that much anymore.

I will hopefully get my camera software fixed today (along with my iTunes) and get some pictures posted later!

Look Ma, No Hands!

The above is a photo essay of Quinn sitting. This was taken 2 days ago and he is already doing so much better, sitting for longer periods of time. He also doesn't need to use his hands anymore, but he often does. He'll be crawling before I know it!

On Tuesday we went outside for a few minutes to blow bubbles and I took this lovely picture of Quinn in the grass. He was very interested in the grass, touching it and trying to grab it. If it weren't for the heat and all the bugs, I would have let him play for longer.

Ross's new career!

So Ross definitely has a future as a nurse! I burnt my arm the other day on one of the oven racks and it has been looking pretty gross. So Ross decided to bandage it up today so that I would stop getting gooey and I would stop hitting it on things. Here is the result.

Not too bad, huh? The only thing that would make it better were if the main part weren't paper towel! Next time you're injured, give him a call. He'll MacGyver some sort of bandage for you in minutes!

Yesterday we took Quinn for a walk and he ended up falling asleep. He stayed asleep once we got home so we put the stroller in the laundry room and shut the door so he could nap in the stroller. He stayed asleep for 45 minutes and I needed to get him up. I opened the door to let some light in and within about a minute I started to hear him make noise. They were not usual Quinn noises and when I popped my head around the corner, he was freaking out a little bit. He looked at me like "Mommy, where the heck did you leave me?" I guess he had no idea where he was and why he was strapped down. He's a funny kid.
