Ross's Birthday

Ross turned 30 yesterday and we went to his favorite restaurant, Texas Cattle Company in Lakeland, to celebrate. His parents came as well. We took pictures with Quinn, but for some reason my flash didn't go off in a lot of them, so the above 2 were the only ones that came out well. We had a great time, and Ross liked all his presents, which included a bunch of $1 bills from his parents, a Donald J. Trump tie from Quinn (get it...Donald...and it was purple, the color of Quinn's birthstone), and a bottle of 30 year old tawny port from me. He didn't get the port thing right away, which made me laugh (30 year old...get it?). Please check out my classy wrapping in the photo below.
What can I say, I have a 4 month old, wrapping presents isn't always at the top of my list of things to do. We're going to JoTo's tonight with extended family/friends and it should be a great time!

4 Months!

I almost can't believe my baby is 4 months old already! Didn't I just find out I was pregnant in the first place? Heck, didn't I just get married? He's getting so big and doing so much. He's really close to rolling from back to front, he only has to figure out how to roll his shoulder. He loves to stand and dance. He's so aware of his surroundings, which is fun to watch, but often makes feeding and naptimes a bit more difficult. I finally put him in his crib for nighttime sleep tonight. I'm going to miss having him in his bassinet next to me (especially when I have to schlep across the house to feed him).

We set up his Baby Einstein musical jumper last night and put him in it today. He seemed to like it, especially the spinning frog and beads. Both his feet don't quite touch the floor, but I think he has to figure out how to actually sit in it. I'm sure he'll love it soon enough.

Everything else is going pretty well right now. Watching Audrey is going great. I just need to get my house in a better order, especially the office. Yikes. Tomorrow is Ross's Big Birthday, I'll have to post something special! Oh, a big Congratulations are in order to my friends Amy and Travis Cole on the birth of Dallas Jeffrey Cole this morning at 6:35 am. They already have one son Austin, who will be a great big brother!

Get Well Nana!

So yesterday my mom fell while going for a walk and broke her right arm. Not good of course, but at least she's left handed. She's in a temporary cast right now and will be scheduling an appointment with an orthopedist soon so she can get a regular cast. Quinn and I decided she needed some special cheering up, so here is a special picture from Quinn, wearing an outfit she bought for him. Of course he scratched his face during his nap today, but he still looks cute! We both hope you feel better Nana!

Happy Father's Day!

Quinn is looking to give his daddy (and Grandpa Karger) a big Father's Day hug!! I actually bought that onesie and put it in Ross's Christmas stocking. It is about time he wore it!

We went to the Brunchery this morning and now we're just hanging out. A nice Father's Day for everyone. Here is a picture of my two men. We're going to go out with Ross's family for dinner.
So Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there, especially Ross, the best new dad I know, and to my dad, Ron Karger, the best seasoned dad ever!
On another note, we had successful lizard removal, all courtesy of me, thank you very much! I trapped it under a cup and took it outside. Gross, but as Jenn Star reminded me, I could have much worse pests in my house.

Thank Heaven for Little Boys

I had to take a picture of Quinn wearing this bib as it is the bib we used when we found out we were having a boy! If you haven't heard the story, Ross was unable to come to the ultrasound appointment because of work and I wanted to do something special, so I had bought a boy and girl bib. I had the ultrasound tech put the correct one in a gift bag and told her to give the opposite sex one to the next person with that gender child (which I hope she did). That night we opened the bag and were not at all shocked to learn that we were having a baby boy! It was hard not to peek during the ultrasound, especially when the tech said it was very evident what we were having. We were able to share the news the next day at Food and Wine Festival at Epcot with several members of Ross's family and the day after my family arrived for vacation at Disney World and we were able to share the news with them. Actually, under the bib Quinn is wearing one of the outfits my mom got him at Disney World on that trip. He's just about to grow out of it, so I thought I'd put him in it one more time.

This is another fun bib picture. Quinn is already a ladies man!

On another note, I have the heebie-jeebies yet again. There was a teeny weird looking lizard on the wall this morning, way up near the ceiling. We got up from our morning nap and it had moved to behind the TV. Now I don't know where it is. First a frog, now a lizard, what next? Yuck!

Just sitting...

I'm just sitting at home, thinking about how I haven't updated in a while. Ok, so I haven't been just sitting all day, in case you were worried. I have done 3 loads of laundry, cleaned 3 toilets, cleaned up around the kitchen, ground some coffee beans, and entertained a 3 month old, amongst other things. But what I haven't done is upload any new pictures of Quinn. I need to take some more and get them up soon.

Not much else going on. Still trying to get another job. I watch Audrey 2 days a week, this week it will be Wednesday and Thursday. I still need to go to Lakeland and clean out my office. I just found out I'm off BBBS email, so that will be a little interesting. I'll probably go tomorrow. I'm so glad I'm not working there anymore. I miss some aspects of it, but not enough to go back!

So this blog is really boring. I'll stop for now. Have a great day!
