Quinn's Birthday and Party

Here is the long overdue post about Quinn's birthday and party. I'm sure you were on pins and needles waiting.

On his actual birthday, we went to the Magic Kingdom. I was so excited to take him, knowing he won't remember, but still excited to see his reaction. I was a bit worried about how he would do with the whole nap thing, but for special occasions I think it is okay to skip it. He did remarkably well, getting a little cranky at times, but he was so interested in what was going on around him, the crankiness usually didn't last long. He really liked the shows and parades, which really shocked me. He even remembered part of one show later when we passed the castle (he pointed to the spot where Mickey and Minnie had been standing and yelled Minnie!).

So here is (most) of his day in pictures. Enjoy!

First picture of the day - Happy Birthday Quinn!

Yummy birthday breakfast at Cracker Barrel.

His first ride at Disney World - the tram from the parking lot to the Ticket and Transportation Center

Checking out the Magic Kingdom while waiting for the boat.

In awe.

With his birthday and 1st visit buttons.

Getting ready to walk down Main St with Nana and Papa.

First real ride - on the Golden Carousel with Mama.

Ringing the bell at Pooh's Thoughtful Spot.

On the Teacups with Papa, Aunt Mere, and dad.

Ears!

Happy Birthday Ears!

Quinn LOVES Minnie!!

Me and Mere with our fancy ears!

Nana with her fancy ears, very nice indeed!

He was excited to see Mickey and Minnie, but got really shy when we went up to meet them.

Ross and I on the train.

With the Minnie dad bought him.

Meeting Eeyore at dinner.

Pooh!

I'm watching you Piglet.

I guess he would rather see Tigger's signature than the actual Tigger.

His birthday cupcake...who knew we would see it again in such a different form in such a short period of time.

He was so happy to eat his cupcake. It had been an overall good day until about 15 minutes after this picture was taken. He proceeded to vomit his entire dinner (which he had eaten quite a bit of) and the cupcake all over the table. It was not pretty, proof of which I can relive because Ross, in the midst of Quinn puking, felt the need to take a picture. For posterity's sake and all I'm sure. I felt so bad, and tried to clean it up, but was assured that this happens frequently, probably daily.

It was a great day and I can't wait to take him back. We didn't get to go on all the rides I wanted to take him on, so I hope we get to take him soon.
Quinn's party was the Saturday after his actual birthday. It turned out to be a really crappy day, which really sucked because his party was at a park. By the start time, most people had cancelled and it was really cold and rainy. Luckily the wonderful Joy Engdahl only lives a few miles from the park, so we moved the party there. Even though there weren't many people there, we had a great time.
The front of the cake, made by the wonderful Kim Spurlock.

The back of the cake. It had all the things he loved, Sesame Street characters and various modes of transportation.

Opening presents!

Eating cake with Aunt Joy!

Yay for balloons!

So Quinn is 2 and it was a great time for everyone. I can't wait to see what the next year will bring. Plenty of action, adventure, comedy, and drama, some of my favorite movie elements!
